Featherstone Rovers to bring in crowd segregation after fans trouble

Featherstone Rovers are to introduce crowd segregation after being punished for the second time in a month for misbehaviour by their fans.

Rovers have been fined £10,000 by the Rugby Football League following an investigation into unacceptable language by a section of their fans during their Championship match against Bradford.

The investigation found that Featherstone had failed to comply with the RFL’s operational rules for a second time after being fined over two incidents at a home game against Rochdale.

The club, who have already put in place a crowd care text service which enables supporters to report any misconduct or foul behaviour anonymously, say they will issue banning orders in future and, in the meantime, will segregate fans for the visit of Leigh on Sunday.
